Understanding Republic Act 9646
Republic Act 9646, also known as the Real Estate Service Act (RESA) of 2009, was enacted to professionalize the real estate industry in the Philippines. This law:
✅ Requires real estate service practitioners (brokers, appraisers, consultants, and salespersons) to be licensed by the PRC.
✅ Prohibits unlicensed individuals from practicing real estate services.
✅ Imposes penalties of up to 4 years imprisonment and ₱200,000 in fines for violators.
